Just two dogs hanging around, doing dog things. Protecting the family. Making them laugh. Looking good while doing it all!

Cross-species peace!
Every now and then we can achieve a peace in our house. It's rare and it's beautiful! It's usually momentary, but when I get it, it's very nice!
Goodbye kids
Goodbye kids!!! Sabo watched them this morning until they were out of sight. What a good puppers. He then proceeded to pace the living room looking at me thinking "it's time to play now, get up woman!"

Can Sabo do it?
I called a local breeder/trainer the other day to see if he would be willing to start training Sabo and I for IPO (in addition to agility, they are both FUN!) and he asked me to bring him out this morning for an evaluation to see how he does. I was a wreck this morning and Sabo did great!
Michael said that he is willing to work with Sabo and I!!!! His drive was diminished today due to it all being a new area, but it was there, he was willing to play with a flirt pole. When Mike asked me to show him Sabos obedience it was SPOT ON! I never taught Sabo the formal heel, so we kinda sucked at that, but he gave me a belt with hotdogs and that improved it all...he was VERY impressed with Sabo's "sit/stay" especially that I could drop the leash and walk away and Sabo didn't move, the same with the down/stay. He brought out a jump just to see what Sabo would do, so I sat Sabo on one side and started walking around to the other and he said "You think he will do it?"...and I said YUP! And called him over and he charged right over...had to check it out after because it's not like ours (the wooden planks vs PVC) but he went over! Then he went over a few more times!!!! I can't wait! I"m going to call him tonight with my schedule and lay out a schedule for us!

Initial down as a solitary comman
I was reading on one of my forums (groan as my husband would say) that a poster found it funny how dogs who learned "sit" and then followed by a "down" (as all the books say) relates the 'sit' command to the 'down' command and will easily flow one into the other. Immediately I thought of Sabo, that's the way I've taught him. Make him 'sit' then lure him into a 'down' and figured that wasn't that bright of me! So...here are our first 3 minutes and some odd seconds of learning an independent 'down' command.

Hose Freak!
Sabo has always loved the hose! Since we are trying to get into agility, I've used his love of the hose to blast him through the weave training we do in the backyard! Here he is going nuts for the hose, I'll try to get some video of him incorporating the hose with the agility equipment. Will have to eventually move off this though because I can't really direct him well if I"m using a hose.
Sept 8, 2013 The sand rocks!
Like I said, as far as Sabo is concerned- the sand ROCKS!!!! He is definitely a digger! I am rather upset that I didn't get the part on video where Mick pointed to an area and told him to dig there and help her out, and he did it!
Beach trip Sept 8, 2013
The kids and I wanted SOMETHING to do with Sabo yesterday...so we woke up early, packed up the car and off to the beach we went! He loved the sand, however, as far as he's concerned, the jury is still out on the Ocean itself!

Sabo at river 22weeks
Today Sabo had his first Agility lesson--however, my husband didn't take ANY photos of it, instead he took a ton of videos of the river breaks we would take :/ I guess something is better than nothing right?
Anyway, Sabo LOVED the river (and did amazing with Agility, worked his way up to a two jump sequence and did a jump tunnel sequence) and I've learned to take someone else with me for photos!
